Diagnostics and electrics in Sandiacre
A code reader tells you which circuit is unhappy. It does not tell you why, and the difference between those two things is what you're paying a garage for.
Plenty of places will read the fault code and quote you for the part the code names. Sometimes that's right. Often the part is fine and something upstream of it, a connector, an earth, a chafed loom, is what's actually wrong. Fitting the named part and hoping is how people end up paying twice.
So the work is tracing it: reading the codes, then testing the circuit to find where the fault really sits. Sometimes the answer is that there's nothing wrong, and you get told that too.
Batteries come under the same heading. A car that turns over slowly on a cold morning may need a battery, or may have something quietly draining it overnight, and those are different bills.

Major power steering failure, they diagnised the fault, replaced the leaking pipe and back on the road again with 48hrs. Excellent service would definitely recommend.
